Nigerian student to be deported over threat to bomb UK university

Okwuoha according to the BBC News report, was found guilty of making terrorist threats against the institution.

The student claimed he had enlisted a popular terrorist group, the Islamic state (ISIS), to help bomb the university and told staff he planned to carry out a chemical attack in the city.

The international energy studies student was found guilty of seven charges and was remanded in custody.

The 26-year-old who will be sentenced next month, Sahara Reporters confirmed.

Keith Mackle, 58, now retired director of student services, told Perth Sheriff Court he became aware of “serious concerns” in the autumn of 2021.

Accommodation officer Shane Taylor also told the court Okwuoha accused him of being racist and said he planned to wipe out Scottish people as revenge.

All these accusations have then turned against the Nigerian student’s fate as he will be sent back home after the court takes its final decision.

Earlier, The chairman/CEO, of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NiDCOM) Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, warned Nigerians against traveling abroad without proper documentation.

Dabiri-Erewa spoke on Thursday, November 23, when she visited some stranded Nigerians who violated Canada’s immigration laws.

The Nigerians who are mostly youths are living in a shelter for asylum seekers in Brampton, Canada.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Mr. Alade*, a 28-year-old marketing staff at a popular Nigerian bank, lamented the situation of things in the country.

He said he lives alone in a rented apartment in Ondo state, Nigeria’s southwestern region. He earns N250,000 a month, which used to be enough to cover his basic needs but not anymore, he told Legit.ng.

“The inflation has really hit my power to purchase basic things and I have had to either resort to lower quality materials or buy miniature quantity of same products to keep up.”
