The African Union (AU) has announced fresh employment opportunities for qualified candidates across Africa and it is inviting applications to fill seven critical positions aimed at strengthening its operational and logistical capacity.

According to the AU’s official job portal, the recruitment drive targets professionals with qualifications ranging from Higher National Diploma (HND) to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, depending on the role.

AU announces openings for various positions

The advertised positions include: Transport and Logistics Officer, Medical Warehouse Management Officer, Market Intelligence Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, Senior Qualification and Data Visibility Officer, Lead, Warehouse and Distribution Officer, and ERP Officer specializing in Materials Management.

These roles span diverse sectors crucial to the AU’s mission of fostering regional integration and improving operational efficiency.

The application deadline has been set for August 14, 2025, giving interested candidates ample time to prepare and submit their documents. Applications must be completed through the AU’s recruitment portal.

This recruitment aligns with the African Union’s broader vision under Agenda 2063 to build a stronger, more capable institutional workforce, supporting socio-economic development and sustainable governance throughout the continent.

By hiring talent from across member states, the AU aims to create a diverse team that reflects Africa’s shared aspirations and unique strengths.

Recently, Legit.ng reported that the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has launched the second phase of its Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI), aiming to tackle youth unemployment and equip Nigerians with practical vocational and digital skills.

Speaking at the unveiling of a new digital registration platform in Abuja on Monday, NDE Director-General, Mr. Silas Agara, announced that the entire process for Phase Two would be conducted online.

According to Agara, this move is designed to ensure fairness and reach more Nigerians across the country.

“After the success of Phase One, we have enhanced our infrastructure to make Phase Two fully digital,” Agara said.

“We have deployed robust hardware, software, and internet connectivity to all 37 states, including the FCT, to ensure seamless operations.”

To register, applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 45, possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN), and reside in any of Nigeria’s states or the Federal Capital Territory, regardless of their state of origin.
