Adamawa state, Yola – A Chief Magistrate Court I in Yola, Adamawa state capital has remanded a 42-year-old man John Clarkson in prison for allegedly killing his uncle, Mohammed Clarkson accused of witchcraft.
Leadership reported that the Magistrate, Alheri Ishaku, gave the order after Clarkson was arraigned before the court for the offense.
Clarkson of Dumna Zarbu community in Guyuk LGA denied killing his uncle, who was accused of killing people by witchcraft.

The defendant allegedly beat up the deceased with a stick which resulted in his untimely demise.
The offense is contrary to section 191 of the Adamawa State Penal Code Law.
Magistrate Alheri adjourned the case to January 4, 2024, to enable the prosecuting police officer to transmit the case diary to the DPP for legal advice.
UNIPORT student remanded in prison for allegedly killing girlfriend
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a 400-level student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Demian Okoligwe, was remanded in prison for allegedly killing and harvesting some vital organs of his girlfriend, Justina Otuene Nkanga.
A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital gave the order on Monday, November 13.
The Chief Magistrate, Nnenda Obiageri-Onugbum, also ordered that Okoligwe’s case file should be transferred to the office of Rivers State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
Nigerian Pastor remanded in prison for allegedly killing church member
Prophetess Sarah Abuloye, the founder of a church in Igbara-Oke in the Ifedore local government area of Ondo state, was remanded in the correctional center over the death of a church member.
The court to remand the female cleric in prison was issued by a magistrate court sitting in Akure.
Prophetess Abuloye, aged 49, had been arrested for allegedly having a hand in the death of the deceased.
Remands Osinachi’s husband remanded in prison
A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Wuse, ordered the remand of Peter Nwachukwu, the husband to the late gospel singer, Osinachi, in the Kuje prison.
Justice Ngozi Nwosu-Iheme, in a ruling on Friday, June 3 ordered that Nwachukwu remain in custody until the conclusion of his trial.
