Again, bandits attack Sokoto village, kill 10, stole many cattle ▷ Nigeria news


– Another set of Nigerians have lost their lives in the hands of bandits in Sokoto state

– The bandits also carted some livestock away after burning down their food storage facilities

– Meanwhile, the village head of the affected community lamented that the Joint task force did nothing to stop the problem

In a new heartbreak for Nigerians, another ten people have lost their lives. They were killed after bandits attacked their village.

According to the head of Tara village in Sabon Birni local government area of Sokoto state, the bandits also carted away a number of livestock away after burning down their food storage facilities.

Mainasara Muhammed Tara added they came around midnight through another route to the village. He said their men and youth are guiding all the major entries.

“We have not been sleeping in the night because of the incessant attacks on our villages. We divided ourselves into groups and each group was guiding one of the major entries into the village.

“So they entered the village through the eastern axis and opened fire on members of the group that were stationed around that area. They then proceeded into the town, killing people at sight.

Going further, he lamented that the joint task force who were alerted earlier allegedly did nothing to protect them.

He said that this was the second time in two months that the village was attacked, Tribune reports.

Meanwhile, the attack was confirmed by the Nigerian Police Force, Sokoto state Command.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported that the hometown of Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi the minister of police affairs, in the Bodinga local government area of Sokoto, was severely attacked by some gunmen on Thursday, March 4.

The bandits invaded the town having made their way in on motorcycles, and carried out their operation without confrontation from security agents.

Even worse, the criminals killed at least one person and abducted the daughter-in-law and wife of the chief Imam from the raided community.

Legit.ng also reported that the Ruwan Tofa town in Maru local government area of Zamfara was on Wednesday, March 3, attacked by some gunmen who succeeded in kidnapping 60 villagers in their deadly operation.

The criminals also razed a lot of cars, properties including houses worth many millions of naira.

A resident who spoke with journalists claimed although no casualty has been recorded, almost half of the town was burnt down while residents have all fled the area.
