The 2025 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCAs) take centre stage tonight from 7pm, with the red carpet set for 4pm.
The host for the night is Ik Osakioduwa and performances are expected from Johnny Drille, Fido, Serotonin, Kunmie and others.
Tonight will see winners emerge from 28 categories comprising 16 non-voting, 10 audience-voting categories and two recognition awards – Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer Awards.
For the Best Lead Actress category, the following are the nominees:
Chioma Chukwuka – Seven Doors
Gbugbemi Ejeye – Farmer’s Bride
Uzoamaka Onuoha – Agemo
Uche Montana – Thinline
Uzoamaka Aniunoh – Phoenix Fury
Hilda Dokudo – The Uprising: Wives On Strike 3
Bimbo Ademoye – Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre
The leading contenders for this award are Chioma Chukwuma and Uzoamaka Aniunoh.
Seven Doors made a lot of buzz when it was released. Many praised Chioma for the strong portrayal of her character.
Phoenix Fury won several accolades at AFRIFF. Uzoamaka received praise for bringing intensity to the performance.
For the Best Supporting Actress category, the following are the nominees:
Meg Otanwa – Inside Life
Tina Mba – Suspicion
Ireti Doyle – All’s Fair in Love
Ini Dima-Okojie – Skeleton Coast
Mercy Aigbe – Farmer’s Bride
Omoni Oboli – The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3
Darasimi Nnadi – Aburo
The leading contenders for this award are Mercy Aigbe, Omoni Oboli and Ireti Doyle.
