Akure, Ondo state – The Chairman of the seven-member APC committee, Kogi state governor, Usman Ododo, has commenced the result collation for the Ondo governorship primary election.
Ododo stated this at the Dome Hall of the International Culture and Event Centre in Akure, the state capital, on Sunday night, April 21.

As reported by Channels Television, the collation of results commenced around 9pm despite protests by some of the aspirants who insisted that the exercise was not conducted and demanded its cancellation.
“We have come to the end of a significant moment in the history of our great party as we conclude the Ondo State APC primary election.”
The Kogi governor thereafter called on the returning officers from each of the local governments to declare their results.
He urged the 16 gubernatorial aspirants to view the exercise as a contest among brothers.
Present at the venue were representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the deputy committee chairman and ex-Deputy Senator President Ovie Omo-Agege.
Some party chieftains and faithful were also on the ground to witness the collation and counting of results.

The Returning officer from Owo local government area was the first to come forward to announce the result, TVC News reported.
Legit.ng recalls that Banji Ajaka, the state’s commissioner for health, was beaten by some angry APC members at Ugbo Ward 3 in Ilaje LGA for allegedly hiding the result sheet.

The primaries, held across 203 wards in the 18 local government areas of the state, witnessed some disruptions in parts of the state.
Ododo said elections will continue in Okitipupa on Sunday, April 21, in the area where violence was reported to have disrupted the process
