Odeh explained that Wike announced the new minimum wage to ameliorate the plight of FCTA workers.

This is coming after the FCT Chapters of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) threatened to shut down activities on November 30, 2024, over failure to implement the new minimum wage.

The Acting Head of Civil Service of FCT, Mrs Grace Adayilo, revealed that Wike also approved payment of three months’ arrears for all staff of the administration with effect from November 2024.

Adayilo said the move was part of Wike’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of the staff.
