President Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate to confirm the appointments of 19 nominees as the National Population Commission (NPC) commissioners.
This was disclosed in a letter from the president read on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday, December 12, by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, The Nation reported.
According to the letter, President Tinubu requested the Red Chamber approve three other nominations for Southwest, Northwest and South-South.

The list of nominees that President Tinubu forwarded to the Senate now includes 21. The development is the latest of its kind that President Tinubu would make barely a year before he resumed office
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) was given two weeks to provide a report on the nomination by the Senate, which Senator Godswill Akpabio chaired.
President Tinubu inaugurates 107 gas, electric-powered buses
Legit.ng earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated a new set of 107 gas and electric-powered buses and taxis in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
The president did the inauguration on Monday, during his visit to Borno state for the Chief of Army Staff Conference in the North East state.
This will be the second kind that the president will launch in December; the first was announced when the president was in Dubai.
