Reflecting on these achievements, Nduka said:
“To our fellow Nigerians, I know the expectations are high because we’ve been doing well in sports, and we’ll try our best not to let them down. Our female teams have lifted the country’s name high, and we want to do the same.”
Super Eagles return to CHAN with bold ambitions
Nigeria is making a long-awaited return to the CHAN tournament after missing the last two editions.
Known for their attacking style and strong domestic talents, the home-based Super Eagles, led by coach Eric Chelle, are aiming to make a statement against defending champions Senegal.
According to Hepa Kenya, the upcoming clash against Senegal will be critical for the team, as a win would boost Nigeria’s chances of advancing to the knockout stage and re-establish them as a top contender for the title.
Beyond national pride, players like Nduka are openly eyeing the presidential rewards that have become a trend for victorious Nigerian teams.
“It’s a good record for the country, and we hope to consolidate on that,” Nduka said.
The Remo Stars defender is hinting that the team hopes to earn the same recognition and $100,000 reward that President Tinubu granted the Falcons and D’Tigress.
