American star Chance the Rapper has announced his divorce from his wife, Kirsten Corley.
Chance and Kirsten Corly part ways
The pair have been married for five years and have two daughters, 8-year-old Kensli and four-year-old Marli Grace.
The news of their split was revealed through an official statement on Chance’s Instagram stories, indicating they had been separated for a while before finally deciding to formalise their split.
It read:
“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”
Chance and Corley have expressed their intention to co-parent their children and requested privacy as they navigate this personal change.
“God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition,” the statement concluded.
Chance and Kirsten Corley’s relationship timeline
The couple’s journey began in 2013 and led to the birth of their first daughter in 2015. Despite a brief separation in 2016, they reconciled in 2017, became engaged in 2018, and welcomed their second daughter the same year.
They celebrated their union in March 2019, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Chance had previously shared how they met at his mother’s office party when he was nine.
Corley was performing a lip-synced musical number, and although he was invited to dance, he declined.
“It’s because I knew I was going to marry that girl. And I didn’t want to jump the gun.
Years later, the couple’s romance culminated in marriage.
“16 years later, it’s happening. This (weekend) is the time, and the place is my wedding. I’m going to dance with my wife because this is my destiny,” he wrote overjoyed.”
