Aliko Dangote, the chairman of the Dangote Group, has alleged that the immediate past governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun, demolished his Dangote Factory in Imota and it was his successor, Dapo Abiodun, who later allowed him to build the factory.
The billionaire made the allegation while having a meeting with Abiodun at the state capital in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, on Monday, March 17.
According to a statement from the Ogun state government, the meeting between the industrialist and Governor Abiodun was to expand investment opportunities in the area of energy, manufacturing and oil and gas in the state.
However, in a trending video seen by Legit.ng, Dangote alleged that the immediate past governor of the state destroyed his cement factory on two occasions when it was being built. The businessman made the allegation while speaking with Abiodun.
Dangote statement reads in part:
“I deem it fit to have it on record that the factory we are visiting now in Itori, it’s because of his excellency that we came back. That factory was demolished twice.”
The business mogul said when he started building the factory, the Amosun administration demolished it and they started building for the second time, then the former governor still brought it down.
He added that right now, the factory is back because of the corporation of Governor Abiodun, adding that the people will be very surprised.
