Westerfield College has opened a campus of the school in Worcester, the United Kingdom, in a step that has put Nigeria on the global map through education.

Speaking at the launch of the new campus in Ikoyi, Lagos, the Chief James Executive Officer, Mr Michael Dosunmu, said Nigeria has a lot of talents to showcase to the world.

He said that the establishment of the campus of the college in the UK was part of his contributions toward putting Nigeria on the global map with regard to education.

“Our dream of building this school was never about making money but about planting a seed and watching it grow.

`We now have offices in 10 countries, including China and India. Nigeria is important to us, and we are very proud of taking Lagos and Nigeria to the world.

“Our UK campus is set to open in July with a summer programme while full classes will start in September, all in 2025,”

In his goodwill message, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the achievement was not just a testament to the vision and dedication of the institution, but also a shining example of the global impact of education and collaboration.

“From its humble beginnings in Yaba, Lagos, in 2011, to its expansion to Victoria Island, and further growth to Kano in 2019 and Abuja in 2022, this institution has consistently demonstrated its commitment to excellence, innovation, and the transformative power of education. The opening of this iconic campus in the UK, reminds us of the boundless possibilities that arise when we invest in knowledge and foster international partnerships.

“This new campus is a bridge connecting cultures, ideas, and aspirations. It represents a shared vision for a future where education transcends borders and empowers individuals to make meaningful contributions to society. I am confident that this campus will not only enrich the academic landscape in the UK but also strengthen the ties between our nations,” he said.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Folashade Jaji, the governor commended the British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Jonny Baxter, for his support in making the vision a reality.

Baxter, in his remarks, said the UK would be a receptive home to Westerfield College and other businesses willing to set up there.
