A report by Daily Trust indicates that Alhaji Mohammed Shittu, aformer presidential candidate has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shittu contested for the country’s highest office on the platform of the defunctAdvanced People’s Democratic Alliance (APDA).

The former national chairman of APDA took part in the nationwide exercise at his Gwagwa Ward in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, to demonstrate his loyalty to the party.

Shittu, speaking to journalists also advocated for a two-party system in Nigeria, saying if adopted, it would help build a stronger democracy and boost the nation’s socio-economic life.

He stated that APC brought the agenda for change, adding that now is the time for forces that want Nigeria to grow to come together. realls that Nigeria’s former chief of army staff Lieutenant-General Azubuike Ihejirika (rtd) on Tuesday, February 16 officially defected to the APC.

Ihejirika was Nigeria’s army chief between 2010 to 2014 under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He has been rumoured to be preparing to join partisan politics in his home state of Abia for over a year.

The 65-year-old announced his decision to join the APC at his Isuikwuato country home in Abia-North senatorial district.

Similarly, famous Nollywood actor, Jimi Solanke, a veteran in the movie industry on Wednesday, February 17, joined APC.

Just like so many Nigerians across the country, Solanke registered his membership at the ruling party.

The storyteller extraordinaire took part in the nationwide exercise at polling unit 3, Ward 7, Ipara Remo, Remo north local government, Ogun state.
