He shared his testimony on how meeting the man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome 25 years ago transformed him. Below are excerpts from Dr. Bamidele Onalaja testimony on his 50th birthday. Read and enjoy!
“Before I say anything, I want to say a very big thank you to you, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. You are a great source of motivation to us. I say thank you for everything you have done in my life, and in the life of my family.
So, I say thank you to you, and also to the pastor so that Pastor can know how deeply I love him. I met him in my final year of university, that’s where I met Pastor Chris, at a Crusade, that I was invited to by my younger brother, sitting there. Toyin Success Onalaja. Rise up for recognition. He drew all of us to Christ Embassy. I remember my father would lock the gate, how he would jump the fence to go to church. He would come back the following day, my father would beat him. The following day, he would jump and go to church, to Christ’s Embassy again. Thank you so very much. God bless you, Pastor. Thank you, ma. I love you so dearly. So, my testimonies are unending. But my salvation testimony is the most important.
I met Pastor Chris, like I said, in the year 1999, at the National Stadium in Surulere where I was invited for a Crusade, Nights of Bliss. I got there. I have known Christ before then but I wasn’t born again. I come from a Christian home, where we all attended the C&S church.
My father is a strict disciplinarian. Baba Ijebu! You will get to read that in my book. I’m launching and releasing two books today. One is my biography. Another one is a book for entrepreneurs. You need to read it.
I’ll be launching them at the reception. So, after meeting Pastor, I made up my mind that I want to live a Christian life. So, I went for my NYSC service in the year 2001 and came back and became a very committed member of Christ Embassy.
From then on, the Word of God that the Pastor preaches is what we have been using in our family, in our business, talking to people, becoming a radical soul winner. I am the haven. The haven taught me soul winning, taught me how to be a consistent giver, taught me how to call forth money where there’s none through the Word of our man of God. And about eight years or nine years ago, when we relocated from the mainland to the Island, I met our highly esteemed Pastor. And you know the truth of the matter, since the day we set foot in Christ’s Embassy in Lekki, our life has been transformed, I’ll tell you completely. I will say 1000 percent. The businesses transformed our family, so everything did change for the better after we listened to our dear mommy, Pastor D, I call her my mama.
So, thank you so much, Pastor. You don’t know how so much you have impacted my life. Thank you. You have impacted our lives, not only us, but so many of your children. Thank you so much.
My 50 years on earth has been so outstanding. I give glory to God. In my wildest imagination, I never thought I would be able to achieve what I have achieved. Growing up from a family of 10, I’m the last of my mom, and I have five other siblings, looking after me. From a family where you can’t say you have even a silver spoon or a bronze spoon or wooden spoon. And God brought me up and lifted me to sit with kings. I want to recognize my mom, my second mom, my biological mom is late. My mother died about 25 years ago. But see, that woman standing there, she is my mother. She took me up from my young age through my university days.
I can remember when I was in the Lagos State University, I would call her, she’s a matron. She then worked at the National Orthopaedics Hospital, Igbobi. She’s a nurse. We call her Mommy Nurse.
So, every time I called, she would give me food, give me Garri, give me money. ‘Don’t tell your daddy o! Go back to school, go back, go back.” She is an extremely wonderful woman. Mommy, thank you so much ma. I cannot thank you enough for your love towards me and my siblings and everyone around you. Thank you, ma.
It’s been a life of greatness and I met my beautiful wife, Tolulope Onalaja, we call her Tee Baby. Thank you so very much, my beautiful wife, for your dedication. I remember several times, several years ago, when I traversed between telecommunications when I first finished school into real estate, then into banking before I now finally settled for real estate.
So, I went through all sorts and through all those years, she stood by me several times. When there was no money to even buy food. My wife would spend her money, she would use everything within her to make sure she sustained the family. Thank you so very much.
God has been so good to us. We started this business just 10 years ago, and like wildfire, we went viral. We give glory to God. We thank God for what God has been able to do in the body of Christ. And how the Lord Jesus has helped us to do great and mighty things and we are still doing them. The testimonies are endless, like I said. But the most important testimony is my salvation testimony as standing here in front of you alive.
