The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness over the death of a Canada-based Nigerian lawyer, Ayokunle Odekunle.
Atiku said the news of Odekunle’s death left him profoundly disheartened, stating that he is deeply saddened as the lawyer’s loss is immeasurable.
The former vice president stated this in a short tribute he posted on his X account (formerly known as Twitter) @atiku, on Sunday, December 30.

Odekunle, a staunch supporter of Atiku died of cancer in Canada.
The PDP chieftain sent his heartfelt condolences to his wife, Halima, his parents, and the wonderful children he leaves behind.
Atiku Abubakar’s campaign DG is dead
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Muhammad Dakat, the director general (DG) of the National Solidarity Movement for Atiku/Ifeanyi Okowa (NSM), is dead.
Late Muhammad was a staunch supporter of Atiku. The news of Muhammad’s exit was received with grief by the PDP presidential candidate on Tuesday, August 15.

The former vice president lost his private secretary, Barrister Abdullahi Nyako. He passed away in the early hours of Thursday, September 22.
In a Facebook post cited by Legit.ng, Atiku expressed grief, saying Nyako was more than an aide to him.
PDP agent slumps and dies at collation centre
In another related news, Legit.ng reported that the PDP ward collation agent in Mbacher ward, Katsina-Ala local government area, Hon. Eunoch Mson Atsehe, slumped and died at a collation centre in Katsina-Ala town.
The deceased is from the Mbacher ward, the largest ward in the Katsina-Ala Local Government area, with the largest voting population.
Tears as Atiku’s media aide dies
