– One of the slain students of Greenfield University, Dorothy Meck, has been buried
– At the funeral service held on Tuesday, April 20, Dorothy’s father, Yohanna Meck, expressed a deep sorrow as he imagined her daughter’s death at the hands of the kidnappers
– The criminal bandits have killed five of the abducted Greenfield University students
Yohanna Meck, the father of one of the slain students of Greenfield University, Kaduna, said he was bidding her daughter, Miss Dorothy, farewell in pains because he never thought of burying any of his children.
In a tribute during the funeral service held at the ECWA Goodnews Church, Narayi High Cost, Meck said bandits interrupted a deal he had with his daughter.
He, however, noted that his consolation was in the fact that, her late daughter did not disappoint him as she almost fulfilled her own part of the bargain before her death.
“I can only imagine how you were pleading with the gunmen when they were to hit you with the bullet(s) and how they refused to hear your plea and still gunned you down. I could feel the pains in my veins; I could imagine the trauma!!
“But I take solace in the word of the Lord, to give thanks to God in all situation. My dear lovely daughter, rest in the Lord. I am bidding you goodbye in pains because I had not thought of burying my child or my younger ones. May we be comforted; rest well my Daughter.”
The bandits first killed three of the abducted students. According to Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna state commissioner for internal security and home affairs, the bodies of the students were found on Friday, in Kwanan Bature village, a location close to the university, on Friday, April 23.
Barely three days after, they killed another two. The ugly incident happened on Monday, April 26.
The victims’ bodies were later retrieved by security agencies evacuated to a mortuary.
