- Fagbemi made this disclosure in a statement on Saturday, April 20, issued by his media aide, Kamarudeen Ogundele
- The AGF, therefore advised Nigerians not to engage with those who impersonate him and for citizens to take note in case of future interactions
Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi has said that he does not have an X (formerly Twitter) account.
In a statement released by his aide, Kamarudeen Ogundele, Fagbemi advised members of the public not to engage with handles impersonating him.
Ogundele, speaking further in the statement, asked the public to take note for future interactions, Daily Trust reports.
The statement read:

“The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, has no Twitter handle.
“He has channels of communicating with Nigerians, but Twitter is not one of them, at least for now.
“The public should take notice of this and be well guided for future interactions.”
EFCC Arrest: AGF tells Yahaya Bello what to do, whom to call
Meanwhile, following the drama that has trailed the efforts of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe and arrest former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, had made known his position.
In a statement on Thursday, April 18, Fagbemi, called on Bello to honourably submit himself to the EFCC to carry out its constitutional duties.
In the AGF’s view, the action of Governor Ahmed Ododo, who used his immunity to prevent Bello’s arrest on Wednesday, April 17, was ‘disquieting’.
Tinubu’s certificate: Chicago university locks Twitter account
Recall that Chicago State University had locked its Twitter account @ChicagoState, following a bombardment of messages from Nigerians over the academic records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The US institution applied the ‘protect your posts’ feature on X which allows the Chicago University to conceal its contents from persons who are not followers.
