Fuji Mastro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal will be performing at the City Pavilion, London to mark Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary.
Popular promoter, Eniola Omobolanle Olatise, Alexes Promotions disclosed this at a press conference.
She said that the anniversary celebration would also feature popular afro hip hop artist, 9ice on the day. Speaking, Olatise stated that KWAM 1 would be gracing the occasion not just as a musical legend but as a godfather who has been of tremendous blessing to her.
She said, ” KWAM 1 does not entertain people strictly for money anymore. As a matter of fact, he does not cherish the idea of having money pasted on his head anymore. He is in the class of his own ,” she said.
Olatise explained that it is a privilege to be KWAM 1’s promoter and that since she started the business with the legend in 2019, the relationship has been so smooth.
“Expectedly, there will always be a few disagreements in business but KWAM 1 is more than just a business partner to me. He is like a daddy to me and a mentor. He is a straightforward person who will not break rules or agreement,’ she stated.
Olatise described all KWAM 1’s shows in the UK as sellouts and that she is planning a bigger one for October 1, Nigeria Independence Day where creme de la creme in the United Kingdom will be entertained by him.
“I’m a socialite even though, I have a lot of businesses that keep me awake everyday. I only sleep for four hours out of the 24 hours due to my busy schedule but then I enjoy myself with good music. I’m a lover of music and to be precise, a KWAM 1 fan,” she said.
She told journalists that her team is planning “Fuji Festival” in the United Kingdom where all Fuji musicians around the world will assemble to exhibit their creativity. “This is in the pipeline and it’s going to be massive. I’m from Ibadan and you know what that means. We will ensure that the Fuji Festival is well organised for the world to see the best of Yoruba tradition and how Fuji has grown to become an international music.”
Asked if she has the intention of promoting another Fuji star now or in the future, Olatise declined the idea, adding that she would only stick to KWAM 1 who she said had become part of her family.
