Lekan Ogunyinka: “The Eagle” | One Singer, Two Microphones

  • Meet Naija’s Only Mobile Singer Lighting Up Stages Across the Globe

Lekan Ogunyinka, famously known as “The Eagle,” “Omoobaorun,” and “Naija’s Only Mobile Singer,” is not your average performer. With his signature “two microphones” and his boundless stage energy, he has carved a one-of-a-kind niche in Nigeria’s gospel and live performance scene. He’s also the visionary founder of Eagleband, a dynamic music group celebrated for high-octane praise sessions, cultural brilliance, and unforgettable event experiences across Nigeria and the world.

But before the spotlight, there was a story of grit, grace, and growth.

Born with big dreams and humble beginnings, Lekan’s journey began at just 17 years old when he worked at Cadbury Nigeria PLC. It was there an elderly colleague planted the seed of higher education in him. Encouraged by divine nudges and the support of the late Apostle Petrus Adeniji, Lekan enrolled part-time at Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, studying Marketing while hustling to make ends meet.

During his ND years, he took up a job at an aluminum company, gaining valuable business exposure. In 1995, while on Industrial Training at Balita Limited, he birthed his first music outfit—an early version of what would become today’s Eagleband.

After completing his HND in 1998, he served his country in Jigawa State under the NYSC program. Returning to civilian life, he dabbled briefly as a Sales Manager at a water factory, before joining Financial Standard Newspaper in 2000 as a Marketing Officer. In under a decade, he rose through the ranks to become Assistant Advert Manager, managing major media clients—all while juggling band performances on the side.

In 2009, as the demand for his music ministry surged, Lekan made a life-defining decision: he resigned from his corporate job to go full-time into gospel music and event entertainment.

And he has never looked back.

With God’s grace as his compass and a relentless drive to inspire, Lekan Ogunyinka has since built Eagleband into a household name. His performances—whether from the stage or in motion through the crowd—are a soul-lifting experience of praise, passion, and purpose.

From South Africa to Europe, Dubai to the United Kingdom, The Eagle has carried his unique sound and anointing across borders, representing Nigeria and blessing audiences far and wide.

Whether you know him as Omoobaorun, Naija’s Only Mobile Singer, or the man with two microphones, one thing is clear—Lekan Ogunyinka is on a mission to praise, to uplift, and to fly higher than ever.
