Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, RMD, radiated in his crisp black suit and white bow tie last Sunday night as he premiered his highly anticipated debut movie as an executive producer titled, “Radio Voice.’
The film explores themes of love, redemption, and second chances, following a sex worker who becomes the saving grace of a struggling radio station. RMD described the film as a “labour of love” and a “triumph of the human spirit over adversity.”
The premiere, held at Alliance Francaise, Ikoyi, Lagos, was a star-studded event, featuring celebrities like Segun Arinze, Rita Dominic, AY, Ini Edo, and Ramsey Noah, all dressed to impress.
The cast and crew, including Nancy Isime, BamBam, Kiekie, Dorcas Ariyiike, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Timini Egbuson, also turned up in style.
RMD expressed his gratitude to his team for their dedication and commitment to bringing the story to life. For him, ‘Radio Voice’ is a creative evolution, a chance to shape a project not just as an actor but as a storyteller with a vision. “Bringing this story to life has been an incredible journey, one that started as an idea and has now blossomed into a full-fledged movie. Being able to follow the narrative from inception to the final product has been both rewarding and fulfilling,” said RMD.
The film hit the cinemas nationwide yesterday. Globalcom, the event’s sponsor, cited their longstanding relationship with RMD and their support for the entertainment industry as reasons for backing the project .
