Actress Rhoda Albert, widely recognized for her role as Paulina in the hit series Wura, has opened up about her experience on the show, the challenges of portraying her character, and the valuable lessons acting has taught her.
In an interview with Potpourri, Albert shared that she is quite different from Paulina in real life. While her character is an extroverted and people-loving personality, she describes herself as an ambivert who finds peace in solitude. However, she noted that they share one thing in common—a tough exterior hiding a soft heart.
“Our dress styles are different, and even our taste in men varies,” she revealed. “But to embody Paulina completely, I intentionally dressed like her even when I wasn’t filming, so I could stay in character and make it easier for my colleagues to see me as Paulina at all times.”
Speaking on the most challenging scenes she had to film, Albert pointed to the emotional shift in Paulina’s character when Fola returned to town. “It was a tough period because Paulina, who was once cheerful, became consumed with anger, bitterness, and sadness. To deliver that, I had to tap into my own experiences and imagine how I would feel if I personally went through that level of pain and had to face the person who caused it,” she explained.
Albert also shared an important lesson she has learned from acting, emphasizing the power of listening. “A listener or observer is greater than a talker. Even in acting, you become a better performer when you truly listen to what is being said to you or around you. That’s when acting flows naturally,” she said.
