Actor and producer Adeoluwa Okusaga, popularly known as Saga, has announced a heartfelt initiative to honour his late mother, who passed away 11 years ago.
In an emotional message shared on Instagram, Saga revealed plans to donate ₦100,000 each to 10 motherless individuals as a tribute to the woman who shaped his life and career.
Reflecting on her memory, the former Big Brother Naija star expressed how deeply he misses her, noting that time has moved too quickly since her passing.
He admitted to facing emotional struggles, including bouts of loneliness and unanswered questions, but credited his mother’s influence for giving him the strength to persevere.
“She taught me never to give up,” Saga wrote, attributing his growth as an actor and producer to the values and creativity she instilled in him.
Sharing his pain, he added, “My love, I couldn’t bring myself to make another video this year, so I’m just going to use the same one from last year. 11 years, gone by too fast. I want to stand on a mountain and scream loudly, maybe somehow you’ll hear me say ‘I miss you!’”
Saga’s gesture is not only a tribute to his late mother but also a show of compassion to those navigating life without maternal support.
“Life’s been tough, cold, mean, I can’t even lie, it gets lonely sometimes. I struggle with a lot of things, I have questions no one can answer, I make mistakes, I fall, sometimes I’m misunderstood, “I need you”.
“In all of this, all 11 years… I have never given up, just like you taught me. The light you left in me still burns, Mum. The world keeps trying to kill your flame. Not gonna lie, it flickers sometimes, but somehow it never went out, not once. Warm, yes, but “I miss you still”.
