The French midfielder was handed the man-of-the-match award after the Blues stood firm to claim a 1-0 win over their Premier League rivals Man City.
In a post-match conference, Chelsea captain Azpilicueta spoke highly of his teammate as he was quoted by Sky Sports:

“It’s straightforward, yes [he is the best in the world].
“He does everything. The energy he brings, I don’t know how many ball recoveries he had today. The way he drives the ball forward, he covers so much ground.
“It is special to have him. Of course, when we don’t have him we miss him. After winning the World Cup and now Champions League, he is still so humble as a person.
“I am so happy for him, he is a massive part of this team and I am very happy to have him next to me for a few years.”
Kante who won his third consecutive man-of-the-match award has been regarded as one of the humble players in the world.
The 30-year-old was carried round the pitch by teammate Kurt Zouma immediately after the sound of the final whistle.
He then chose to give the Champions League trophy a pat with both hands while other kissed the silver-plated cup after receiving his winners-medal.
Kante’s success in the game is second to known as he has now won the major trophies in football including the Premier League, FA Cup, the Champions League and the World Cup.
The Chelsea midfielder’s former teammate Felipe Saad with French second division side Caen claimed that the 30-year-old melted hearts when he was invited to his birthday party.
It was Kante’s first time attending a birthday party and the Frenchman did not know what to buy for the celebrant.
