The Crown: The Duchess of Cornwall meets actress Emerald Fennell who plays her in the hit Netflix series | UK News

The Duchess of Cornwall came face to face with her screen self as she met actress Emerald Fennell, who plays her in The Crown.

The two met at an event at Clarence House to celebrate International Women’s Day today.

Although there’s been a lot of discussion about what the Royal Family may think about the Netflix TV series, Camilla seemed pleased to see her TV double.

Fennell said it was “absolutely delightful” to meet the duchess at the event with leading women from the arts, politics and business.

“I was nervous I might be thrown in the tower but so far so good. She’s been in the spotlight for a long time and has always weathered it with a lot of grace and good humour,” she added.

When the actress was asked about her conversation with Camilla, she said: “You know what – I’m going to be very discreet, because if I’ve learnt anything it’s ‘loose lips sink ships’.”
