Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has approved a grand ceremony to honour 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullah and 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema, for emerging World best in English language skills and overall debate competitions respectively at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, United Kingdom.

Legit.ng reported that Nafisa and Rukayya, both from Yobe state, are students of the Nigerian Tulip International College, who represented Nigeria at the World competition to beat 20,000 other participants from 69 countries.
A reported by Daily Trust, in a statement signed by the director general press and media affairs to the governor, Mamman Muhammad, Buni said he would host and celebrate the two students.
He said:
“Nafisa and Rukayya both beneficiaries of the Gov. Mai Mala Buni’s scholarship programme covering full tuition for 890 students at the Nigeria Tulip International College.
“Governor Buni described the outstanding performances as a great honour to the state and country.”

Buni assured that his administration would continue to subsidize education for every child in the state to have the opportunity to go school, and appealed to parents for cooperation.
He said:
“Government has reconstructed schools destroyed by the protracted insurgency, provided furniture, books, laboratory equipment and employed more qualified teachers to improve the quality content of education in the state, and it is still a work in progress.”
Currently, there are about 40,000 Yobe state students on government scholarships studying various courses in Universities and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria and overseas.
Boy wins scholarship worth N24 million
Legit.ng earlier reported that a brilliant Nigerian boy has been praised on social media due to his academic prowess. The boy emerged tops in a mathematics competition and this won him many accolades.
According to education activist Alex Onyia, who shared the good news on X, the boy won a scholarship worth N24 million. He identified the boy as Agu Chijindu, noting that he won the Evergreen Schools Enugu Annual Mathematics Olympiad Competition.
NOA celebrates 17-year-old world best CIE candidate
Similarly, Legit.ng reported that the National Orientation Agency (NOA) celebrated Mmesoma Okonkwo, a brilliant 17-year-old student who hailed from Anambra State, on Wednesday, June 25.
Mmesoma Okonkwo was named “the Nigerian of the week” by the agency for emerging as the Overall Best in English Language in the prestigious Cambridge International Examination.
Mmesoma, who recorded A1 in all nine subjects in her West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC), has been described as “an inspiration to young Nigerians”.
