“Turning To Donald Trump”: Diddy’s Lawyer Makes Bold Move in Quest for Singer’s Freedom

Aug 6, 2025 | Uncategorized

  • Diddy’s lawyers revealed they reached out to Trump for a presidential pardon following his recent conviction
  • Trump earlier stated that past hostility from Diddy makes granting clemency “difficult” despite their once-friendly rapport
  • Legal experts weighed in on the sentence the music mogul might face after escaping life imprisonment

American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is not giving up on freedom just yet, even after U.S. President Donald Trump publicly hinted that he was not inclined to help.

Weeks after Diddy was convicted on two federal charges relating to transporting women for pr*stitution, his high-powered legal team confirmed they’ve reached out to the Trump camp, seeking a pardon. The move, however, may have hit a wall.

Trump cools off on Diddy

Speaking with Newsmax, Trump admitted that while he once had a cordial relationship with the Bad Boy Records founder, things changed dramatically when politics came into play.

Trump said:

“When I ran for office, he was very hostile. That makes it more difficult to do [a pardon]”

Despite this, Diddy’s attorney Nicole Westmoreland remains optimistic. In an exclusive interview with CNN, she confirmed contact with Trump’s camp and expressed the belief that Diddy still holds on to hope.

She said, speaking on behalf of her client:

“He is a very hopeful person.”

The White House, however, refused to confirm whether any official clemency request had been received.

From facing life to fighting for leniency

Diddy may have dodged the harshest charges, racketeering and sex trafficking, but his conviction for pr*stitution-related offenses still carries weight.

Legal experts say he faces a possible 20-year sentence. However, prosecutors had earlier projected a minimum range of four to five years, with recent court filings warning that it could go “substantially higher.”

The final sentencing decision is expected in the coming months, and pre-sentencing arguments won’t even be heard until September. For now, Combs waits behind bars—his fate hanging in the balance.
