The Super Eagles forward scored an opportunistic goal in the 15th minute, firing home from inside the box after Gabriel Sara’s initial shot hit the inside of the goalpost. Turkish winger Baris Alper Yilmaz added the third in the 21st minute.
Osimhen added to his tally with his second goal and Galatasaray’s fourth in the 31st minute, another opportunistic goal after the ball came to him in the box. The visiting team pulled one back two minutes later.
He was denied a hat-trick by the video assistant referee after his goal two minutes into the second half was chalked off. He was substituted and replaced by Dries Mertens in the 70th minute.
Osimhen sets new personal record
According to Leagues Reporter, Osimhen has set a new personal best with his 32nd and 33rd goals of the season, breaking the record of 31 goals he set during that 2022/23 title-winning season at Napoli.
As noted by Transfermarkt, he has also provided seven assists for his teammates, taking his attacking contributions for the season to 40.
He has featured in three competitions for the Turkish champions, scoring in each. He has 22 goals in 26 league games, making him the top scorer with four matches left.
He scored six goals in seven UEFA Europa League matches before Galatasaray were eliminated and has three goals in the Ziraat Turkish Cup to help the team to the final.

Okan Buruk speaks about Osimhen’s record
Galatasaray’s head coach, Okan Buruk, joked that he prevented Osimhen from scoring more goals before admitting that it was to prevent the risk of injury and suspension in the final weeks of the season.
“I prevented him from raising his career record (laughing). I took him out of the game early,” he said as quoted by Galatasaray.org.
“Thinking about the next match, I wanted to reduce the risk of injury, and he is on the verge of a card. The players actually want to continue. He could have scored a hat-trick today.
“We are also fighting a separate battle to protect our players on the sidelines. That is why I may have prevented him from improving his career record. ”
Morata gives Galatasaray condition
Legit.ng reported that Alvaro Morata gave Galatasaray a condition to replace Osimhen with the Super Eagles set to leave the club when his season-long loan expires.
The Spanish forward is also on loan at the club till January 2026 with an option to extend or make it permanent, and with Osimhen set to leave, he is ready to step up.
