Victor Osimhen: Top Premier League Clubs Reportedly Make Official Offers for Nigerian Forward

  • Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly submitted offers for Nigerian star Victor Osimhen
  • Barcelona, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be monitoring the forward’s situation
  • Napoli’s initial €120 million asking price has dropped, triggering fresh interest in the in-form forward

Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has become a hot topic in European football yet again as the summer transfer window approaches.

The 26-year-old forward was a major target for many clubs last year, but Napoli’s hefty €120 million price tag scared off potential buyers.

However, with that fee now reduced to around €70 million, interest in the Nigerian forward has surged and the race to sign him is officially back on, ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Football Transfers, Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United have both submitted official offers for Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.

Turkish journalist Arda Ozkurt also claimed that both the Gunners and the Red Devils were the first teams to make formal attempts to secure Osimhen’s services for the 2025/2026 season.

Arsenal is desperate for a proven goal-scorer, with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz on the sidelines due to injuries.

Manchester United have struggled all season, ranking among the lowest-scoring teams in the Premier League.

With both teams’ attacking departments lacking, Osimhen could be a long-term solution to lead the frontlines.

According to Transfermarkt’s statistics, the Nigerian has already shown his value with Napoli and Galatasaray.

European giants also reportedly eyeing Osimhen

Meanwhile, Football365 also reported that major clubs including Barcelona, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are all said to be monitoring Osimhen’s contract situation.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that the 2023 Africa Player of the Year winner was almost certain to leave Napoli in the summer, with negotiations already said to be heating up.

Galatasaray is reportedly working behind the scenes to raise funding to help retain Osimhen beyond his loan spell, although his preference for English football makes this unlikely.

While the Nigerian forward’s destination remains uncertain, one thing is almost certain – he is poised for a big move in the summer.

Whether the 26-year-old joins the Premier League, La Liga, or Ligue 1, he is finally set to take the next major step in his blossoming career.

Last year, Osimhen was unable to secure a transfer deal although previous issues with Napoli make it likely that he will be moving on.

Top strikers courting summer window interest

Earlier, Legit.ng also reported that European football clubs have begun preparations for the summer transfer window of 2025, with the season wrapping up in less than two months.

Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man United, amongst others, will be in the market for a striker as they seek to upgrade their current options to boost their chances of dominance next season.

Osimhen’s current interest, amid his current form on loan with Galatasaray, could result in him finally making a move after failing to secure a permanent move away from Napoli.
