Star Actor, JAIYE KUTI Tells City People
Jaiye Kuti, a celebrated actor, producer, writer, and CEO OF Jaylex Aesthetic Productions. Right now, she is excited to announce the official launch of her real estate company, TerraHive Properties Limited. This ambitious venture marks a significant milestone in Dr. Jaiye Kuti’s career, marrying her passion for real estate with her enduring dedication to the arts.
TerraHive Properties Limited is set to redefine the landscape of real estate in Nigeria, with a focus on land sales for residential, commercial, and luxury estates. The company proudly holds substantial hectares of prime land in Mowe and several strategic locations across Nigeria. With an eye towards the future, TerraHive Properties Limited aspires to expand its footprint across Africa, becoming a pan-African powerhouse in the real estate sector.
Despite this new venture into the world of real estate, Jaiye Kuti remains committed to her acting career. “Acting is my first love, and I am not stepping away from it,” she affirmed. “In fact, TerraHive Properties Limited will enable me to take on more acting roles and embrace more strategic projects that will influence and enhance the film industry.”
Prior to starting TerraHive, she started Jaylex Aesthetic Productions, a company focused on film production, music and radio productions, event management and advertising. Jaiye has been the founder and CEO of Jaylex Aesthetic Productions for over 15 years.
She acknowledged that her involvement in real estate will provide her with the flexibility and resources needed to select roles that not only entertain but also contribute positively to the cultural narrative and industry development. Through her dual endeavors, she aims to support and uplift the arts, promoting growth and innovation both on and off the screen.
City People Head of TV, SUNDAY ADIGUN had a conversation with star actress, Jaiye Kuti as she revealed why she float Real Estate Company. Excerpts.
Let me start by congratulating you for adding another year. How do you feel seeing how people celebrated you?
First of all, I want to say a big thank you to God Almighty, for making it possible for me to see this day.
I didn’t plan to celebrate my birthday with my Real Estate. Last year I was telling myself when I was with my friend, Bimbo Oshin. I said I am tired of wearing gown every year to celebrate birthday, “can’t we just celebrate something else to mark the day. I never knew that the Dangote was going to pave way to the land I bought many years ago. I saw they have started the road and I was like, “thank God, I can start something on this land.
So, I decided to celebrate my birthday with the launch of my Real Estate business.
I was more than glad, seeing many people celebrating me yesterday.
The love was just too much for me to handle, and I want to use this opportunity to appreciate everyone Ire a ka ri o.
From being a celebrated actor to now have an estate. Why did you go into Real Estate business?
Like I said I had a land that I bought somewhere, some years ago. That time it was just a bush. I just bought it for future purposes, knowing that it will appreciate one day. The money I was making from being an Ambassador to some of the Real Estate Company, I was investing it on this land, and I made sure that I was buying it in the same area. When I notice that Dangote has started the road construction.
I had to call my brother to go there and make sure that nobody steal my land because many have started their parameter fencing.
Then I notice even those that have 5 acres, 7 acres are already calling themselves a Realtor, how much more me that have a 30 acres, and another 17 acres. I just said, let me just go into the business too. So I stayed back abroad to attend training on Real Estate Management for months.
So, I am now a Realtor, and I am still very active as an actress, that is my origin and I can never forget it.
What do you want people to know about TerraHive Properties Ltd?
Our theme is “Own Your Space, Tell Your Story”. Owing Your Space means that everyone have their own individual space.
Some will live under the bridge, they have occupied a space, some will live on top of the bridge, they are occupying a space.
Some will live in a mansion, that is their space. All of us have a space, but is that space your own space? Our mission at TerraHive is to make sure you Own Your Space. If it’s full plot, it’s your own. If it’s half plot, it’s your own. Building and owning that place is the story you have to tell; that this place is mine.
We can also handle your properties for you. We can do a fact finding research for you as well. We are doing a lot at TerraHive Properties Limited.
Are we expecting any production from you soon?
We are coming out with Jaiyeola Monje Anniversary. The first one was 10 years ago, with Alhaji Pasuma. Now we want to do the part 2. Myself and Ajibola had a wedding 10 year ago, so we want to celebrate 10 years anniversary (laugh). I also have a production coming out but I won’t reveal the title.
